Celebrating Diversity provides a range of resources for teachers and anyone working with young people to help make schools, and other youth settings safer, more supportive and more inclusive places for same sex attracted and transgender young people (SSATY) and staff.

What some young people have said about being SSA in school:

"I went to a school that had no materials about sexual diversity, nor did it have any discussions, positive images around the school, etc.
It was if ay people didn't exist at all"

"Verbal homophobic abuse was often ignored at school. I can't recall an occasion where a teacher ever addressed it"

Teachers' responses to Celebrating Diversity training:

"It's great to discuss a topic which is kept behing closed doors. I'ts great to finally get it out of the closet!"

"Now I feel a lot more confident to develop a program and make the changes in the cirriculum that will help facilitate a more positive environment for same sex attracted students"
